Read this before you apply for Kerala State Eligibility Test!
SET exam, the qualifying exam for Kerala Higher Secondary teachers and Vocational Teachers is a very important exam for all aspiring teachers across the state. The dates for sending application is from 30 March to April 25. Registration is completely online and the exam will be conducted in July across state. LBS( Lal Bahadur Shastri) Centre for Science and Technology, a self-financing governmental agency has been conducting the exam over the years.

Pattern of the test
There are two papers. First paper is a general paper which is to be written by everybody. It includes General Knowledge, Current Affairs and Teaching Aptitude.
Second paper is the subject specific paper wherein students can expect questions from postgraduate level. Both paper has 120 questions and 120 minutes each. There are only multiple choice questions with four options and you have to choose the most appropriate answer. For Mathematics and Statistics, there are only 80 questions with 1.5 marks. There are no negative marks for a wrong answer. Detailed syllabus is available in website.
Who can apply?
Postgraduation in your subject with a minimum of 50% marks and graduation in Education is the qualification required for you to write the exam. Final year postgraduates with a B.Ed degree can also apply. Final year B.Ed students with a postgraduate degree can also apply. Subjects like Anthropology, Commerce, Gandhian Studies, Geology, Home Science, Journalism, Music, Philosophy, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Statistics do not require a B.Ed degree.
How will you pass?

General: 40% minimum for each paper and 48% in total for both papers.
OBC: 35% for each paper and 45% including both papers
SC, ST and PWD: 35% for both papers and 40% including both papers
